Traveling one hundred years into the past

Experience Centre '14-'18

Visit the Experience Centre '14-'18 in the Engelenburcht and travel one hundred years into the past.
Listen to peculiar tales, read diaries, trace troop movements and get caught up in what the residents of the convent and village were feeling: all in the former Ursuline Monastery.

See new exhibitions which were added to the Experience Center in June 2018. ‘In the eyes of a refugee’ tells the story of people all over the world forced to flee their countries and their homes. Visit the haiku tree, which serves as a poetic memorial, establishes the convent garden as a place of reflection and action. Strolling through the convent garden you'll also come across the unique open-air exhibition ‘Through the lens of the occupier’, which displays enlarged photos shot by the German occupation exactly one hundred years ago.

Walk through the museum and feel like you are being caught up and carried along through a compelling story.
